My first article published for The Hockey News was about a story I was tremendously passionate about and a topic I have been interested and done a lot of research into. It's an article detailing why Alexander Mogilny deserves to be in the Hockey Hall of Fame and after the article published in 2025 and was later that day  he was inducted into the Hall Of Fame.
This article took a lot of preparation and planning from the beginning stages of pitching it at The Hockey News, to writing my first draft and tweaking it with the feedback from the editor to tweaking the second draft. This article took a lot of planning and preparation and went through various stages and iterations but this idea was something I have been passionate about for years to see it finally come to fruition on a big public stage like that was very rewarding. This story also required a tremendous amount of preparation and research to weave in both statical and narrative based arguments for the presentation of the case.
The biggest creative challenges from this article were the nerves and anxiety of my first big public published article going out, even though it was a topic I felt passionate and comfortable with it was just a new feeling and sense of eagerness to publish my first article. Another challenge was managing my primary responsibility of editing and fact-checking to then balance with the work of writing my article and the process that took.

This is work part of the brainstorming process of my story when I first wrote out what my story framework would potentially look like to pitch to my editor Jonathan Tovell
